Chiropractic treatment is based on a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline, focusing on the neuromusculoskeletal system.
Chiropractors are manual practitioners who provide diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints throughout the body.
What do Chiropractors do?
After a thorough history and physical exam, Chiropractors will provide a diagnosis of a presenting complaint, and prescribe a plan of management that is specific and catered to each individual patient.
Follow-up visits can range anywhere from 15-20 mins and usually contain a combination of the following therapies:
Soft tissue therapies
Interferential current (IFC)
What is an Adjustment?
An adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement usually applied by hand to a joint of the body. Joints are assessed by the Chiropractor to determine which are not moving properly and/or are restricted. Adjustments loosen the joint to restore proper movement and optimize function. Adjustments can be performed to any joint in the body including, joints of the spine, elbow, wrist, hip, ankle and jaw.
